Here we have another finished sample image from these amazing new colouring books.I have lots of colouring books but have to say these are by far the best. The fact they are ring bound single sided and printed on quality paper means there are no restrictions on what colouring medium you choose to use. They are suitable for the complete novice through to the experienced colourist.

I have to say out of all the images I have coloured this is my favourite I think.

You will notice I have left the background white this is because the image has been coloured especially for TV.I would suggest using pastels to colour the background if you want to add to it.

I have coloured this one again using WHSmith pencils and Morrisons Sparkle Gel Pens.

Nautical Adventures Art Colouring Book - Katy Sue Designs

Above is the image from the front cover of one of the brand new colouring books from Katy Sue Designs being launched on Create and Craft tomorrow.

I will tell you a little bit about the book.

The front cover is beautifully illustrated and coloured and the images inside are printed on really good quality paper on which you can use an abundance of colouring media to colour the images.

The images are one sided and the book is ring bound which is a hugh plus point.

If you are new colouring, it is a great book to start with as some of the images show exactly where you need to put your shading.  The images are also great if you are already an experienced colourist.

The images have been drawn by the very talented Sandra Rushton.  You will be able to see her live on Create and Craft tomorrow demonstrating her fantastic talent.

I hope you like the images I have posted so far.  I will, over the next few days be posting additional images which I have coloured.  Please leave your comments and if you have any questions them please do not hesitate to ask, or contact me on Facebook.

Images were coloured using W.H Smith's pencils and Sakura gel pens.

Colouring Crazy !!!!

Good afternoon everyone.Today I have decided to show you a couple of images I have coloured recently. They have both been created just using WHSmith pencils I really wanted to show that you don't have to spend a fortune on pencils to enjoy this fabulous relaxing hobby. So what are you waiting for.......

It was a hit !!!

Well the recipe was a great hit !!!!!  The recipe states serves six and it does and the portions are a decent size to.I cooked it in a medium sized dish and with the generous amount of mash on top it actually took an hour in the oven not half an hour as stated in the recipe but I will say I think that was because of the dish size . I would suggest using a large dish to cut the oven time down. The lemon and Herb mash I wasn't sure about how the flavour would be but it was lovely.
Here below is the recipe ENJOY ......

Smoked Fish Pie With Lemon and Herb Mash
Serves 6
Takes 1hr 15 mins approx
Cost per serve £2.25 approx
cals 585 kcal per portion

Ingredients
2Ib potatoes peeled and cut in half
2 1/2 oz butter but low fat spread will do
12fl oz milk
1 Lemon zested
2 tbsp Dill finely chopped
1 tbsp flat leaf parsley chopped
2 1/2 oz plain flour
7 fl oz whipping cream
2 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp chives chopped
1 1/2 Ib smoked fish  chopped (I used salmon and haddock)
7 oz prawns

Method....
Oven on gas 4 180c 160 fan
Boil potatoes drain and mash with knob of butter or spread and 2fl oz of the milk
Stir in lemon zest and parsley and season to taste set aside.
In a pan melt the butter or spread add the flour and cook for 2 mins stirring to create a paste.
GRADUALLY add the milk and cream to make a smooth thick sauce.
Stir in the mustard and chives.
In a dish add the fish and prawns and combine with the white sauce.Top with the mash and dot with butter or spread.Bake for approx 30 mins or until golden and piping hot..

Hello I'm back !!!!!

Smoked Fish Pie with Lemon and Herb Mash

Hi everyone after a very long break away from Blogland I'm back .I will be bringing you lots of inspiration and hints and tips. For my first post I decided to tell you what I'm having for dinner this evening.I am so guilty of buying lots of fish because it's "good for us " but then it gets left in the freezer taking up valuable space."Oh I must do something with all that fish before it has to be thrown away".Well I found this recipe and I am going to try it out this evening.I had most of the ingredients in my pantry and herb garden and was happy to find the potatoes and onions I needed were on special at Aldi that was a bonus !!

Pop back tomorrow and I will let you all know the good the bad and the ugly if it gets the thumbs up from all the family. I will post the recipe for you all to try plus my ideas on how to tweak the recipe to.

Bye for now
